If you are worried...
about your child, please get in touch.
I know your children are the most precious things in the world to you, and you would do anything for them. It’s easy to see that children and adolescents have more pressure these days than ever before. The rise in social media has consequently seen a rise in bullying, anxiety and low mood. There is more pressure to look a certain way, to get good exam results, and to just “fit in”. All of these pressures can lead to unhelpful thoughts and beliefs which can in turn lead to unhealthy coping mechanisms.
When your child is struggling as parents we want to do anything we can to help them.
The idea of coming to therapy may be very daunting and anxiety provoking for your child, so it is important that your child feels comfortable and able to share their thoughts and feelings with me. We will spend time building a therapeutic alliance by talking about their family, friends and hobbies and interests. I will always use age appropriate activities and strategies to help your child get the most out of the sessions.
CBT can help your child to challenge unhelpful thoughts and behaviours and replace them with more helpful ones. It is a very practical form of therapy, which can be tailored and adapted to each individual child’s needs making it a suitable and highly effective treatment for children and adolescents.
